How does SilverSneakers work?
SilverSneakers is a senior fitness program for adults 65+. And if you have a participating Medicare Advantage or Medigap plan, you can participate in SilverSneakers at no extra cost!
What does SilverSneakers include?
SilverSneakers members are encouraged to stay active and social through the many included activities. Benefits include:
- Live online fitness classes and video library of prerecorded workouts
- Exercise classes for seniors of all fitness levels led by trained instructors
- Free access to local gyms, community centers, and other participating fitness locations
- A supportive community in person and online!
The best part is that members can find something for everyone! Available classes range from boot camp, circuit training, strength and balance programs like tai chi, yoga, water aerobics, and Zumba. SilverSneakers members can also access local pools, courts, and walking tracks.
You can also mix and match your locations! If you like the swimming pool at one participating location and the tennis court at another, your SilverSneakers membership will get you into both! Or try out some classes online and some in person!
You can download the free SilverSneakers GO app to get your digital membership card, find local SilverSneakers locations and classes, and discover and track workouts.
How do I get SilverSneakers?
SilverSneakers is included in many Medicare Advantage and some Medigap (Medicare Supplement) plans. If you already have Medicare Advantage or Medigap plan, you can check here to see if your plan includes SilverSneakers.
If you do not already have Medicare Advantage or Medigap plan and would like to look at plans that include SilverSneakers, let your agent know and they can help you find a plan that includes it!
SilverSneakers is NOT included in original Medicare (Medicare parts A and B).
